Good App but im missing some features: - German Translation - Input a start-up balance for the accounts - If the amount of a scheduled transaction changes, sometimes the further transactions must also have the new amount - Interest Rates in a Savings Account have no category And there is a bug: - if i create a Loan Account on my MacBook, the window will be so big that i cant see the ok Button

I was using version 4, now I decided to get new one and it is completly useless, cant add starting balance fo raccounts, cant add currencies it shows only questionmarks. Well unfortunatelly I bought both versions Mac and iPad. Waste of money. Now I need to find other solution. Too bad.

Was unable to download transactions from four out of five of my investment and banking accounts. Not sure if this is the fault of the software or the bank. The good news is I was able to get a refund.

Spent and hour trying to set up my banking accout to no avail. Finally got it to recognize my accounts, but would only download 1 transaction. Setup is muddled and extremely confusing. Emailed the developer and he told me to cut and paste some error logs….and to "not be so dramatic" and "every heard of a country other than the United States? This software is intended to work in many countries and thats why you may have to change a file encoding setting because it is not the same for everybody" . LOL Its really quite simple…I buy the software and it should work. I dont have the time or will to email error log codes to figure out why your software doesnt work. When the first thing I have to do it study the users guide to try to set things up theres something wrong. Id give it zero stars if I could.

I am a longtime iCompta user and I was really excited to see new versions released for iOS and OSX. But my excitement was short-lived for a few main reasons: 1 - The OSX app makes data entry a nightmare. The developer has added way too many fields to the basic transaction screen. It used to be so easy to enter transactions, but now it is cumbersome and dont even think about trying to assign a category to a transaction. It takes 5-10 tries just for the app to save the transaction correctly. What used to take me a few minutes to do (enter in a weeks worth of receipts) now takes 30-45 minutes. Unacceptable. 2 - The black button on black background interface is insanely difficult to read on both apps. As stated I am a longtime iCompta user and have often felt it is the most overlooked Mac/iOS finance app available. But part of what made it so wonderful before was that it had powerful features with simple data entry and elegant navigation interfaces. This update seems to have broken both of those and I hope the developer can fix it.

Both the OS X & iOS apps are solid apps. It’s simple to download transactions for your credit card, bank or other financial institution, as long as your financial institution wants to offer a decent transaction update. Some do, some don’t & some charge. For this reason I need to download my bank transactions as a CSV file. They charge for the luxury of a OFX download. By using the built-in browser, the data file is opened by the app which makes it almost as easy as an OFX file. My CC provider offers OFX downloads complimentary…. 8-) It is easy to manage banking this way. Even the iPhone app offers the same transaction download options. When I was auditioning mobile apps, I was surprised that developers were not supporting transaction downloads, instead they made the customer manually enter them all. I quickly dumped them all for iCompta, good sync feature & both apps did the work for me. The Help documentation is a light, hope that they can focus there soon. The desktop & mobile apps work well together offering a good set features to manage finances with. Cheers !

I do not know what to say about the negative reviews toward this app and its developer. Not once have I experienced any untoward responses whenever I have contacted the developer with questions/problems. Indeed, each inquiry has been treated respectfully and promptly. As for the program (both desktop and mobile), well, they do as claimed and they do it very well. Each is feature rich with essentially all of the functionality to deal with all aspects of transaction record keeping and budgets. This cannot be said for the competitor offerings when considering both the desktop and mobile applications as a package. At any rate, to each his/her own. All of this sort of thing boils down to individual tastes and needs.

iCompta is a robust and flexible finance tracking app. I’m using it to handle both my small business and personal finances. When I began using iCompta, I had an issue connecting to my bank, and a rare and random crash. Cyril was very responsive and after a few tests, he had both fixed within a couple of days.
